NEW DELHI: A Chandigarh to Lucknow IndiGo flight got cancelled on Friday due to some technical issue. The issue was identified before the aircraft started taxiing, and as a safety precaution, all passengers were safely disembarked, ANI reported citing sources on Sunday.

"IndiGo Flight 6E 146 from Chandigarh to Lucknow was cancelled after the Pilot detected a technical issue An IndiGo flight scheduled to depart from Chandigarh to Lucknow was cancelled on Friday after the pilot identified a technical issue during pre-flight checks," the sources said.

"The problem was detected before the aircraft began taxiing, and as a precautionary measure, all passengers were deboarded safely. The issue was identified prior to departure, and the aircraft did not proceed with takeoff. The affected passengers were either accommodated on alternate flights or offered a full refund," they added.

This comes as the aviation industry has been cancelling or re-scheduling flights due to technical glitches, especially after the Air India plane crash in Ahmedabad.

On Saturday, officials reported that an Air India Express flight from Delhi to Patna was diverted to Varanasi because of bad weather. The aircraft eventually landed in Patna later.

Moreover, another IndiGo flight from Guwahati to Chennai, carrying 168 passengers, was forced to make an emergency landing at Bengaluru’s Kempegowda International Airport after the captain declared a ‘Mayday’ due to low fuel on Friday.

The aircraft had attempted to land in Chennai, but the landing was aborted after the landing gear briefly touched the runway. A source indicated that the approach seemed unstable, prompting the pilot to execute a steep climb. Around 35 miles from Bengaluru, the distress call was issued, leading to the emergency diversion.
