Uttarakhand chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami inaugurated a new state guest house, ' Uttarakhand Niwas ,' in New Delhi on Wednesday. Designed in the traditional Pahari style, the building showcases Uttarakhand’s rich culture, folk art, and architecture. It is intended to provide a “homely experience” for visitors from the state.

Uttarakhand Niwas will also feature a special counter for 'Shri Anna' and other organic products, promoting local goods to visitors in the national capital. Chief minister Dhami described the guest house as a “symbol of the state’s dignity” in Delhi and a step forward in enhancing Uttarakhand’s presence and identity.

In a post on X, CM Dhami expressed his enthusiasm for the new building, stating, “Built in the Pahari style, this building represents the unique art, architecture, and culture of our state. It will ensure proper accommodation for people from Uttarakhand visiting Delhi, providing them with a sense of home.”

Additionally, traditional Uttarakhand dishes will be served at Uttarakhand Niwas, offering guests a taste of the state’s cultural heritage. Arrangements are also being made to sell organic and locally produced items, including 'Shri Anna' products.

The inauguration holds special significance as Uttarakhand approaches its silver jubilee on November 9, marking 25 years since the state’s formation. CM Dhami highlighted the event as a symbol of the state’s ongoing development and its commitment to making Uttarakhand the “best state.”

In a related initiative, on October 30, the Uttarakhand government mandated the use of 'House of Himalayas' products across all government departments and meetings. This brand, promoted by chief minister Dhami, includes goods produced by women’s self-help groups, farmers, and rural entrepreneurs, emphasizing the state’s focus on supporting local communities and sustainable development.
