HYDERABAD: Former Delhi University professor GN Sai Baba died on Saturday due to ill-health at Nizam’s Institute of Medical Science (NIMS) hospital.
Sai Baba was previously accused by Maharashtra police of having links with CPI Maoists . After he was jail for seven year, he was acquitted by Bombay High Court in March, 2024.
Sai Baba got admitted in NIMS hospital last month and undergo surgery for an ailment in gallbladder. However, he developed post- surgery complications and it led to his death. The doctors of the hospital declared him dead at 8.36 pm on Saturday. It was in August, Sai Baba spoke to media in Meet the Press event and recalled about the extreme difficulty he faced during his prison days. He was kept in Anda Cell (solitary confinement) in a prison at Maharashtra.
