'As you promised': Chef Vikas Khanna's reminder to president-elect Donald Trump

US President-elect Donald Trump has been receiving a load of congratulatory messages from all around the globe following his victory at the US Presidential elections 2024. Once such greeting was extended by Indian chef and cookbook writer Vikas Khanna, who addressed Trump in an Instagram post, reminding him of a promise.

“Hello Mr. President!,” he wrote , expressing hope to cook Indian cuisine at the presidential residence.

“Hope to cook Indian cuisine at The White House as you promised the last time we met,” he said.

Khanna also posted a memorable photograph of himself and Trump shaking hands at Rashtrapati Bhawan, taken during the dinner hosted by the then President Ramnath Kovind in Trump’s honor during his 2020 visit to India.

Music composer A R Rehman can also be seen standing beside Khanna.

The post quickly went viral on Instagram, with over 74 thousand likes in 3 days and attracted mixed reactions from users.

Many joined Khanna in greeting Trump and some celebrated the prospect of Indian cuisine being served at the White House.

“Fingers crossed.. Wishing the white house will also taste ur lovely Indian cuisine.. ATB,” commented one user.

“Would love to see you cook there,” another wrote.

Others, however, were taken aback by Khanna's message, criticizing him and stating that they would avoid visiting his establishments.

“This is very disappointing to read and a reminder to not return to Bungalow (or any other of your establishments),” a user commented.

Vikas Khanna is a renowned celebrity chef and owner of several culinary establishments. He has also served as a judge on MasterChef India.
