A close friend of Cassie Ventura has come forward with disturbing claims against Sean “Diddy” Combs, telling a jury that the rapper once assaulted her with a wooden hanger and offered hush money to keep her quiet, reports US Magazine .
Kerry Morgan took the stand on Monday during Diddy’s ongoing federal trial in the US. Her testimony followed that of Diddy’s ex-girlfriend Cassie last week, during which the singer mentioned Morgan as someone she lost contact with after a violent episode.
“We were best friends,” Morgan said. “We don’t speak anymore.”
Morgan described a 2018 incident where Diddy allegedly attacked her during a fit of rage over Cassie’s relationship with someone else. “I had a concussion. I was dizzy. I vomited a few times,” she told the court.
She also claimed that both Cassie and Diddy offered her $30,000 in exchange for signing a nondisclosure agreement (NDA) after the attack. Morgan signed it and cut ties with Cassie, reports the US Magazine.
Diddy 'dragged Cassie by her hair’
Morgan’s testimony supported several of Cassie’s previous allegations regarding Diddy’s alleged domestic abuse. She recalled witnessing physical abuse on at least two occasions.
After one attack, she said she and Cassie hid for nearly half an hour on a neighbour’s steps while Diddy drove around looking for them. In the second incident, Morgan said Diddy dragged Cassie by her hair. “She hit her head on the brick and was motionless for 20 to 30 seconds,” Morgan said. “I thought she was knocked out.”
After Cassie regained consciousness, she ran into a wooded area. Morgan said they hid in a ditch for “what felt like hours”.
‘Combs controlled everything’
Morgan spoke about how isolated Cassie became, saying she was one of the only friends who wasn’t working for Diddy. “Combs controlled everything,” she claimed.
“She lost her confidence big-time. She lost her spark,” Morgan said of Cassie. “Sometimes she’d be frustrated because she’d be working on music and it would never work out. He was in charge of her career.”
Morgan said Diddy’s circle would often make Cassie feel better about the relationship. “You could tell they were convincing her it was OK,” she added.
Hammer attack after hotel assault
Morgan also described the aftermath of a 2016 assault at a hotel in Los Angeles, part of what’s now become a key piece of evidence. Cassie came home with a black eye, she said.
About 30 minutes later, Diddy allegedly showed up and tried to break down the door with a hammer. “Cassie was numb,” Morgan testified. “I don’t think she would’ve cared if he came in and killed her.”
Diddy pleads not guilty, denies all claims
Diddy was arrested in September 2024 and is facing charges including sex trafficking, racketeering conspiracy and transporting individuals to engage in prostitution. He has pleaded not guilty and denied all allegations.
Cassie had sued Diddy in November 2023, accusing him of years of physical and sexual abuse throughout their 11-year relationship. They settled the suit just one day later for $20 million.
