Abu Dhabi’s Integrated Transport Centre (ITC), affiliated with the Department of Municipalities and Transport , has issued a formal notice mandating that all valet parking service providers must obtain official licences before starting operations in the emirate.
In a move to streamline and regulate valet parking across Abu Dhabi, the ITC clarified that offering valet parking services without a proper licence, or misusing an existing one, is considered a violation of local laws and regulations. Any such violations will hold offenders legally accountable.
According to the ITC's official statement:
“All entities offering valet parking services must obtain official licences from the ITC before commencing any activity in Abu Dhabi.”
The directive is aimed at ensuring public safety and maintaining orderly urban mobility by bringing valet operations under formal oversight.
To enforce the new rules, field inspection teams from the ITC are actively conducting monitoring campaigns at various service points across the city. These efforts focus on identifying unlicensed operations, ensuring compliance with existing permits, and maintaining a safe and organised environment in areas where valet services are provided.
In light of these measures, the ITC is urging all concerned entities, especially:
to review their legal standing and verify the validity of their valet parking permits in accordance with the newly enforced requirements.
In addition to business compliance, the ITC is also reaching out to the general public, encouraging users to be cautious and selective when engaging valet services. The statement noted:
“The centre highlighted the importance of the public choosing licensed providers when using valet parking services, in order to safeguard their rights and ensure the safety of their vehicles.”
The ITC confirmed that it is ready to receive and process reports regarding any illegal practices or violations tied to valet parking operations. Residents and visitors are encouraged to use official communication channels to submit such complaints or observations.
