A UK mother was in shock when she discovered her toddler consuming her father's ashes in their living room.
Natasha Emeny from Lincoln briefly went upstairs to handle laundry, returning to find her one-year-old son interacting with her deceased father's ashes. Upon returning downstairs, she found Koah walking about with ash spread across his face, clothing and the sofa.
She caught her young son Koah in the act, expressing her shock in video orginally posted on Tiktok, shared on other social media platforms as well. In the video, the child can be seen walking around wearing an ash-covered t-shirt. while the mother expresses her disbelief over her son's act.
Despite never showing interest in the urn previously, Koah had somehow accessed the top shelf during her brief absence. She had positioned the urn on an elevated shelf specifically to prevent such incidents.
Natasha recorded her son's behaviour, generating widespread amusement. In her video post, she wrote: 'Oh my God. When your son eats your dad.'
She can be heard saying in the video saying, "My son has eaten my dad's ashes!"
White and grey ash piles were visible on a table, showing evidence of Koah's finger marks. Ash also covered the sofa extensively, leaving a thick layer of residue.
Though Koah never met his grandfather, the mother later mentioned her father's excellent sense of humour would have found the situation amusing.
The TikTok video, posted recently, attracted 300,000 views and 5,000 comments. Many viewers initially thought it was an April Fool's prank, but Natasha confirmed its authenticity.
Describing how the situation came to be, the mother explained, "I was taking some washing upstairs, literally for a couple of minutes. I come back down to him covered in ashes."
"It took me a moment to realise it was in fact my dad's ashes," she further adding, "I was mortified. I'm still trying to process it!"
Speaking to The Sun, she confirmed her son remained healthy as he 'didn't consume too much'. Medical professionals had advised giving water to the child, assuring he would be fine.
Responding to queries, Natasha explained the decorative vase containing the ashes had been present throughout Koah's life. Then she mused, "He never met him but now they are always together!'
