As a part of the ongoing 51st All India Oriental Conference, various cultural programmes are being organized showcasing the diverse cultural landscape of the country. The first day’s highlight was Tad-Bharatham, an exquisite dance production called Tad-Bharatham successfully concluded, leaving audiences in awe of its exquisite portrayal of over six thousand years of India’s cultural and artistic heritage.
Choreographed by renowned dancers Nirupama and Rajendra, esteemed Dance Artists from Bengaluru, the performance captivated viewers with its seamless fusion of dance, music, and literature, offering an unforgettable exploration of India’s spiritual and artistic legacy.
The production unfolded as a dialogue between the Himalayas and the Ocean, representing the vastness of Indian civilization. Drawing inspiration from India’s classical epics—the Ramayana and Mahabharata—as well as from Kalidasa’s Raghuvamsha and Shakuntalam, the performance brought forth a diverse range of emotions such as love, valor, laughter, and celebration.
The featured sequences included:
• That is India: A vibrant portrayal of the divinity and community in Indian life.
• Vedic and Epic Affinity: A captivating representation of the values of the Vedas and the heroic epics.
• Abhimanyu: A powerful depiction of Abhimanyu’s courage and sacrifice from the Mahabharata.
• The Divine Flight: A poetic visualization of Rama, Sita, and Lakshmana’s return from Lanka, as described in the Ramayana.
• Vasantotsava: Celebrating cultural unity under the grand temples of the Vijayanagara Empire, particularly during the Mahanavami festival.
