Train Carrying 546 Senior Citizens Departs from Udaipur

Udaipur: Under the Rajasthan government’s free pilgrimage scheme for senior citizens, a special train carrying 546 senior citizens departed from Udaipur’s Rana Pratap Nagar railway station at 1:30 pm on Friday for Ayodhya, Haridwar, and Rishikesh.

The railway station was adorned in saffron as the gathered crowd chanted ‘Jai Shri Ram’ to bid farewell to the pilgrims. Among the 546 passengers, 267 were from Udaipur and Salumber, 89 from Rajsamand, 58 from Chittorgarh, 49 from Pratapgarh, 44 from Dungarpur, and 39 from Banswara. Additionally, 100 passengers from Kota division will board the train at Kota station, and another 100 from Bharatpur division will join from Sawai Madhopur.

The train was flagged off by Udaipur city MLA Tarachand Jain, BJP district president Chandragupta Singh Chouhan, Deepak Sharma, Akash Bagrecha, and additional commissioner of the Devasthan Department, Ashok Kumar. Also present at the event were Assistant Commissioner Jatin Kumar Gandhi, Inspector Sunil Kumar Meena, and other officials of the Devasthan Department.
